When the actress, 82, took to the stage to present Best Film at the 2020 Academy Awards, she wowed audiences everywhere with her new gray pixie cut and a crimson beaded Elie Saab gown. A dress she had previously worn to Cannes in 2014, she boldly declared the coat she was carrying was “the last article of clothing I will ever buy” as part of her ongoing climate change protests.

Fonda has been an outspoken activist on the topic of climate change and has been arrested numerous times as a result. She most recently held a protest (her 15th) in L.A. the Friday before the Oscars, where she was joined by Best Actor winner Joaquin Phoenix.

Although she is possibly the most vocal of the stars when it comes to addressing this issue, Fonda isn’t the only celeb promoting and embracing sustainability. Kaitlyn Dever dressed in eco-friendly fabrics, Margot Robbie opted for vintage and Elizabeth Banks dressed in a gown she previously wore over 15 years ago.

Fonda was also showcasing a new silver pixie haircut and seems to have ditched the hair dye, opting for an entirely natural look. She gave credit to her hairstylist Jonathan Hanousek posting a pic with him backstage with her on Instagram.

Seriousness aside, the actress who of course currently stars in the hit TV comedy Grace & Frankie, still has her sense of humor. After attending a gala back in 2018, she posted a candid pic of herself the next morning, wearing her gown at breakfast time, sans make-up, saying she couldn’t get it off the night before without help, so was forced to sleep in it!
