Following her husband Kanya West's announcement about running for the presidency this year, the internet went into a meltdown discussing the next FLOTUS Ever since Kanye West made the announcement that he is running for president, people have not stopped imagining Kim Kardashian as the first lady. There has been much chatter on various social media platforms on the same, with some amused, others appalled.

Kardashian retweeted her husband's message on Sunday where he made his aspirations known. The idea of them being the next power couple to occupy the White House invited mixed reactions. Many thought it would be a new low in the already troubled political climate of the country if it elected a former reality star to the presidency. One of them was twitter handle kc@ultkmlip who wrote: wait if kanye becomes president, doesn’t that mean kim kardashian is gonna be first lady... oml we’re gonna have keeping up with the kardashians white house edition.

Another handle jarrett hill (@JarrettHill) envisioned what news cycles would be like with West as a president and Kardashian as the first lady: tellin you right now, i don’t have it in me for kanye to (actually) run for president. nope. the idea of having to critique his policy, analyze coverage whatever fuckery he’s saying this week. real discussion of kim kardashian becoming first lady. i’m out. i’m out. no, i’m out. A situation where Kardashian and West were the chosen pair in the White House was a "f**ked up" according to AYUSHI MONDAL (@ayushimondal19) who wrote: LMAO so Kanye West is running for President so that would imply Kim Kardashian to be the fucking First Lady. How fucked up is all this?! RIP America, you're screwed. Some like Dean Obeidallah even wrote it would not be long when an entire list of celebrities comprising of other Kardashians and friends of West would be in important positions of power in the government. Obeidallah wrote: Kanye West as President - Kim Kardashian as First Lady. Elon Musk as Attorney General, Khloe Kardashian as Secty of State and the rest of us moving to Canada, Mexico or any country that will give us asylum. Quite a few pointed out that if the reality star becomes the first lady, she would be the second FLOTUS to have "done porn" after Melania Trump.
This reaction, however, gained some backlash. Secretary of Antifa (@megslay) wrote: A sex tape between two consenting adults isn't anything to be ashamed of. Saying "I'm not ready for another First Lady who's done porn" is anti-sex worker. It's misogynistic to slut-shame @KimKardashian when it's @kanyewest who announced he's running for president. Do better. A few fans of Kardashian didn't think her becoming the most powerful woman in the country, and possibly the world could be any worse considering the kind of people who are presently in the White House. Twitter handle loveBribaby wrote: So let me get this straight y’all mad at the fact she might be first lady the women fighting for prison reforms because of a tape that was leaked? But y’all okay with a pedo and known racist and his wife who does not shit for noone. However, to be fair, Kardashian has shown some interest in intellectual pursuits in recent years - something she has been lauded for by her fans. It might convince a few that she is first lady material. As a part of her prison reform campaign, she met Trump in 2018 with a petition for the release of Alice Marie Johnson, who received a life sentence in 1996, without parole, for being a part of a drug ring in Memphis. Last year, she revealed she's was studying law and would take the bar exam in 2022. She went on to write "there is nothing that should limit your pursuit of your dreams" on her Instagram page.

Last year I registered with the California State Bar to study law. For the next 4 years, a minimum of 18 hours a week is required, I will take written and multiple choice tests monthly. As my first year is almost coming to an end I am preparing for the baby bar, a mini version of the bar, which is required when studying law this way. I’ve seen some comments from people who are saying it’s my privilege or my money that got me here, but that’s not the case. One person actually said I should “stay in my lane.” I want people to understand that there is nothing that should limit your pursuit of your dreams, and the accomplishment of new goals. You can create your own lanes, just as I am. The state bar doesn’t care who you are. This option is available to anyone who’s state allows it. It’s true I did not finish college. You need 60 college credits (I had 75) to take part in “reading the law”, which is an in office law school being apprenticed by lawyers. For anyone assuming this is the easy way out, it’s not. My weekends are spent away from my kids while I read and study. I work all day, put my kids to bed and spend my nights studying. There are times I feel overwhelmed and when I feel like I can’t do it but I get the pep talks I need from the people around me supporting me. I changed my number last year and disconnected from everyone because I have made this strict commitment to follow a dream of mine - It’s never too late to follow your dreams. I want to thank Van Jones for believing in me and introducing me to Jessica Jackson. Jessica along with Erin Haney have taken on the role of my mentors and I am forever grateful to them both putting in so much time with me, believing in me and supporting me through this journey. This week I have a big torts essay due on negligence. Wish me luck ✨⚖️
