ALDI shopper’s unusual checkout trolley hack hailed as ‘genius’

An ALDI customer has revealed his very clever trick for loading groceries into a trolley, despite the furiously fast speed of the supermarket’s cashier staff.

Posting on a popular Facebook page, shopper Katie shared a video of her husband at an ALDI checkout demonstrating his unusual technique.

While most shoppers usually struggle to keep up with the quick speed of staff as they scan groceries, Katie’s video showed how her husband solves the problem by simply placing a trolley at the end of the checkout.

Then, after the cashier has finished scanning the items, he simply flicks them into the waiting trolley at the same time.

The motion means shoppers don’t have to waste time picking up groceries and putting them into their shopping carts, causing the shopping to back-up at the end of the checkout.

Shoppers can then move to the packing area - as advised by ALDI policy - to place their groceries into bags or take them directly to the car.

“This is how you do it, ladies,” Katie wrote on the Aldi Mums Facebook page.

Many ALDI shoppers loved the checkout hack.

Trolley technique

“Love the trolley technique,” said one.

“We’ve been packing it wrong all this time!” added another.

Said a third: “This is gold!”

Others said they followed a similar technique.

“My hubby does this while I stand poised with card at the ready,” wrote another. “No holdups from us boomers.”
