Man who injected heroin into baby to 'get at' ex dies in prison

British father who injected baby with heroin to 'get at' ex-girlfriend dies in jail

A man who squirted heroin into his baby daughter’s mouth through a syringe to “get at” his ex-girlfriend has died in jail.

Roger David Weir, of Poole in England, was jailed for 18 years in 2012 after admitting to attempting to murder his ex, local outlet the Daily Post reported.

The self-confessed “psycho” used a meat cleaver and a boat flare in his murder attempt.

When he was unsuccessful, he squirted heroin into his own daughter’s mouth as a form of revenge.

She ran for her life before calling police, who took the baby from Weir.

He reportedly told the court “voices” in his head were to blame for the attack and was jailed.

An inquest on Friday heard he had been admitted to hospital while midway through his sentence with a suspected gallbladder infection, according to the Daily Post.

Instead, it was liver cancer, which proved fatal.

He died on October 22, 2019.

Weir had a history of medical complications, the inquest heard, including a brain hemorrhage in 2015 after being attacked in custody.

He was due for release in 2021.

The coroner described his death as “arising from natural causes”.
