Woolworths customers have shared their confusion after making disturbing discoveries in the same pre-made meal.

Two shoppers took to Facebook to reveal how they found strange grey meat matter in the supermarket’s own brand Butter Chicken with Rice.

Woolworths has since launched an investigation into the incidents.

Shopper Chris posted one pic of the heated meal which showed a large mass of bizarre-looking meat.

“There is zero chance I am even going to attempt to eat that,” Chris wrote.

Days earlier, fellow Woolworths customer Kirsty shared a similar experience.

“Just heated this up at work for lunch,” she wrote.

“That looks disgusting, doesn’t look anything like chicken,” said one Facebook user.

Responding to the two complaints, a Woolworths spokesperson has told 7NEWS.com.au that the supermarket is looking into the claims.

“We treat food quality seriously, so we’re disappointed to see this,” the representative said.

“Our suppliers have a number of processes in place to ensure the highest quality products end up in our stores.

“We’ll be looking into this further with our supplier to understand why this particular batch wasn’t up to the standards our customers quite rightly expect.”
